Dr. Mohammad Zeeshan Hakim

Dr. Mohammad Zeeshan Hakim is an accomplished cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon with a rich background in trauma surgery, emergency care, and academic leadership. A graduate of IMS BHU and KGMU, he holds an MBBS, MS in General Surgery, and MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, along with certifications in ATLS, NELS, and biomedical research. His professional journey includes impactful roles at IMS BHU and KGMU, where he pioneered trauma protocols, initiated fellowship programs, and was part of landmark procedures like trauma Whipple’s, LVAD placements, and hybrid cardiac surgeries.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hakim has contributed significantly to medical research, authoring over 23 peer-reviewed publications in journals like BMJ Case Reports, Indian Journal of Surgery, and Heart India, covering vascular biomarkers, trauma outcomes, and complex cardiac pathologies. His academic involvement extends to supervising MS theses, reviewing for prestigious journals, and presenting at national and state-level conferences including ASICON and UPASICON, where he has earned accolades for poster and paper presentations. Clinically, he has led key developments in trauma and cardiac surgery, including vascular reconstructions, and minimally invasive techniques. At BHU, he initiated laparoscopic trauma surgeries and AV fistula protocols at KGMU, significantly enhancing vascular access care. His leadership in managing penetrating heart injuries, congenital heart repairs, and critical limb salvage procedures reflects a blend of precision and compassion.
